About This Content The PRR K4 steam locomotive is a true American classic, and is the ideal companion to our Horseshoe Curve Expansion Pack which captures the glory days of the PRR. Proudly nicknamed the Standard Passenger Locomotive of the World by the Pennsylvania Railroad, the K4 first ran way back in 1914 and soon became a familiar sight all along the railroad as the PRR’s premiere steam passenger locomotive. No less than 425 examples were built by the time production ended in 1928, and the K4 carried on to the very end of Pennsy steam in 1957, having hauled some of the railroad’s most prestigious passenger services and even freight trains. Only two K4s now survive, but you can drive your very own K4 in Train Simulator! The K4 add-on is highly detailed and included such features as a glowing firebox, realistic weathered black PRR livery and brand new driver and fireman characters.PLEASE NOTE: The K4 add-on requires the Horseshoe Curve Expansion Pack (available separately) to run.IncludesPennsylvania Railroad K4 steam locomotive in weathered PRR black liveryScenarios5 scenarios for the Horseshoe Curve Expansion Pack (available separately )WW2 part 1 - Boxed In (standard and career)WW2 part 2 - Rushing the Rations (standard and career)All Puffed Out (standard and career)Dedicated Vigil (standard)Westward Wonderer (standard)Plus 4 free roams 7aa9394dea Title: Train Simulator: PRR K4 Loco Add-OnGenre: SimulationDeveloper:Dovetail GamesPublisher:Dovetail Games - TrainsFranchise:Train SimulatorRelease Date: 9 Feb, 2012 Train Simulator: PRR K4 Loco Add-On Download Windows 7 Ultimate A nice little package, although, don't expect a lot from it. This is no FEF-3, but it's a great companion to the Horseshoe. About as complex as the other "default" type locos.. Probably the Best steam locomotive in the TS I played ever. Even considering that perfect graphics and textures are from 2012, the overall feeling and experience is satisfied much more, than in others I played. Even taking in account that they represent different steam locomotive classes (passenger) and have different sizes of boiler and driving wheels, they don't give a feeling that you drive a steam locomotive just because here the most complicated part is starting, not reaching the line speed. The driving is not that complicated as in Pannier Class, but in the same time provide you a challenge. It's the second locomotive from Classics (I do not have Pro series, so I can't compare them) I ever played that really required me to play with the throttle and cutoff positions. Brakes aren't that rigid as in British ones but still need to pay attention when choosing the train brake pipe pressure (the american diesel locos are much more easier, but have a brake lag as a downside).Unfortunately there not that many built-in scenarios available to drive this locomotive, probably only the workshop and community ones.. This is a very nice locomotive. I use it a lot on the Norfolk Southern Coal Route. I have more complex, ultra advanced steam locomotives (FEF-3, Consolidation from Smokebox, highly recommended works of art) but when I don't want to work hard at things, I go for this one. This is very nicely done. Just open the window, hang your head out (if you have TrackIR) and relax. It's like train zen. I can't believe it's on sale this cheap. It's also very photogenic and screenshots of this locomotive make great desktop wallpaper, especially when given the vintage treatment in your favorite art program. Highly recommended!. This Loco is very underpowered it can hardly pull 4 Cars. The whistle is horrible and the bell is just disgusting. The engine overall is a waste of $9,. Pretty good and so is the whistle, now I would like to see an L1s, an M1, an I1s, and a T1.. Nice loco - really enjoy it. Hard to get going, but once underway, steams along well, with good smoke and steam effects, nice heavy chuffing sounds and solid visuals. Carriages OK form outside but poor interiors. This is a bargain in the sale. Note that you CAN use the loco if you don't have Horseshoe but only if you create a custom train. However, the coaches are not available.. It's pretty good. It's quite a nice locomotive if you asked me. The whistle is alright, but sounds more like it's on a loop. The Chuffing sounds are pretty good, and for an old DLC, it's quite extraordinary. The cylinder ♥♥♥♥♥ sound is alright, but needs room for improvement. The price has been dropped ever since it's initial release, which I say is a good move by DTG.. Good since it's the only K4 available, but developers really need to make a new, updated more detailed version of this classic loco. This one has a big issue with reflectivity (very little) even for a dull surface which makes all detail disappear. I wish there was a version with slightly brighter tones so it wasn't a big loco shaped blob most of the time.
